The Bardic Academy

is my school for creators and artists, singers and storytellers, musicians and scholars, poets and writers, lovers of tradition and students of natural magic.

What’s magical is that as you learn how to play the harp or write a poem or create your own oracle cards or sing an Irish song, for instance – you learn a powerful new way of feeling and thinking that you take with you into every part of your life:

  • you believe 1000% in your wild and endless capacity to create
  • you trust your instincts, your intuition, and your choices
  • you recognize the heartbeat of your own desire
  • you know your imagination will take you anywhere you want to go
  • you become utterly devoted to your own freedom and delight

What can you learn, experience, and master in The Bardic Academy?

Music » harp, piano, tin whistle, flute, rhythm, improvisation, composition

Singing » songs, learning by heart, singing with joy and confidence, connecting with listeners

Poetry » composing, reading, deeply considering, reciting, preparing a chapbook

The Bardic Academy Mentorship Program

The Bardic Academy Mentorship Program is a chance for us to work closely together to achieve your goals and dreams.

Your Mentorship is an oasis of fun and joy, and it always includes lots of hands-on feedback, support, and love.

I am honored to use all my gifts and experience – as a musician, singer, storyteller, poet, teacher, and scholar – to lovingly foster you as you achieve the real magic of transformation: to become the person you most yearn to become.

If you feel excited by what you have read here and you would like to hear more about the Bardic Academy Mentorship Program, please fill out the contact form to the right.  I’ll get in touch with you personally and we’ll set up a time to talk about YOUR creative dreams and how a Mentorship might help you achieve them.

Why would you want to be a bard?

What are the opportunities, rewards, and delights?

  • The chance to do real things in the world, to passionately engage in non-virtual reality
  • The sensual pleasure of wood, strings, paper, yarn, fabric, leather, ink…  The “thingness” of our tools and the opportunity to love and be loved by those tools
  • Desirable qualities of mind & heart: competence, skill, self-respect, composure, thoughtfulness, generosity, perspective, imagination
  • Manual dexterity!
  • Vocal grace & verbal eloquence – whether singing or speaking
  • Transferable learning & skill-building.  Apply what you’ve learned in one endeavor to the next one
  • The ability to synthesize – to find meaning in the interstices, a skill which enriches not just our bardic experience but our whole lives
  • The chance to intersect with and participate in tradition
  • The opportunity to innovate, to weave your own color through the eternal tapestry of human art and expression
  • Carrying an art, holding a story, embodying a song, voicing a poem, practicing a skill:  delicious! empowering! exhilarating!
