Why is Inspiration important?

I believe that cultivating our relationship with Inspiration is a path to greater aliveness. To be inspired is to be open to Life, to be breathing in beauty, meaning, connection, and joy.

It’s perilously easy to trudge through life, closed off to its richness and beauty. The wonderful thing is that the desire to be Inspired – just the thought of inspiration – tends to revive us. Suddenly, we’re excited again! It’s like someone has turned up the color and turned on the music!

What is it and what’s included?

The heart of it is a video poetry workshop:  intimate, welcoming, human-scale, and filmed at my desk where I write every day. You’ll write three poems during the time we spend together and you’ll think about what blocks inspiration and what gets it flowing for you.

You’ll also receive a beautifully-designed booklet that has everything you need:

• Suggestions for getting the most out of the workshop
• Your link to the workshop video
• The source poems and poem-forms (which you can use and re-use as often as you like)
• Journaling questions
• Touchstones (ideas you may wish to remember)

FAQ

I don’t consider myself a poet. Will I be able to do this?

I promise: you can! What you ‘ll find here is something I call poem-forms, which are exercises to make it fun and easy to write poems. I’ve used poem-forms just like this with many writers over the years and invariably they come away from the process proud and amazed at what they have created. I know it will be this way for you, too.

Does this workshop include any feedback from you?

I’m sorry I can’t offer individual feedback, but you will feel my encouragement and my eagerness for your fun and success. The video workshop is intimate – filmed at my desk – and direct; my hope is that you’ll feel we’re together, making poems, talking, drinking tea (which I do a bit more audibly than I’d intended!). How long does it take?

I recommend you set aside one hour. The video workshop runs for 42 minutes and twice I ask you to pause the video to write on your own for 5-7 minutes.

How is the workshop delivered?

When you purchase the workshop, the receipt contains a link to the booklet; inside you’ll find your link to the video workshop as well as the poems and other resources.

Because this is a digital product, I’m sorry that I can’t offer refunds. Before you purchase, if you’d like to get a better sense of my teaching style, you might enjoy sampling some of the videos on my YouTube channel or browsing my blog.
