One reason we keep a journal – because in doing so we see what our life really is.
I spied this entry from a month ago and it brought me straight back into the pleasure of a late spring snow, pleasurable as a spontaneous and unexpected meeting before a farewell.
In case you can’t read my scrawl, it says:
Just briefly to say:
It SNOWED today.
Not a lot but intense, purposeful,
thrilling squalls
and a high wind that
knocked down branches
that knocked out
the power for a few hours.
I loved it and walked 3 miles
in the weather.
Tonight I sit in the candlelit,
honey-colored room, warmed by
a fire in the woodstove, and
I feel GRATEFUL
for such a marvelous day.

PS – It’s my favorite journal by Jumping Fox Design.
